We’re proud to be a “Shamrock” Sponsor for the 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Scranton. The parade steps off at 11:45 am this Saturday March 14 in front of St. Peter’s Cathedral in downtown Scranton. Our own Jude McDonough is leaving the broadcast booth and serving as President of this year’s parade. He’s very excited and honored to serve in that role.

The St. Patrick’s Parade Association had their annual sponsor dinner on Sunday March 8th to honor their sponsors and dignitaries. It was a great night to kick off the St. Patrick’s Parade season in Lackawanna County. They honored Jude as the 2026 President along with Grand Marshals, Parade Marshals, and parade dedications to 5 members who passed away since last parade. The dinner was a nice celebration of Irish culture honoring some very community minded individuals.

Jude also announced a new scholarship that they are starting in conjunction with this year’s Honorary Grand Marshal, John Ventura. The Scholarship will be awarded to a University of Scranton student to study abroad in Ireland during a semester in the 2026-2027 academic year. John and his wife Kate agreed to fund this scholarship annually through their Donor Advised Fund. We’re also proud to earmark our sponsorship to add to the scholarship. With the combined funds, this will be an $8,000 scholarship for a student to study abroad in Ireland.

Jude asked the audience for some prayers for good weather and asks the same from our readers. If you would like to learn more about this weekend’s Scranton St. Patrick’s Day Parade, you can visit www.stpatparade.com.
